1. Bullet Where: Top floor of the BPL. (Head for the grandfather clock, zig left, zig left again, then zag right at the portrait of the girl in old-timey clothes.)

  2. Bullet What’s there: Books for kids of all ages, not to mention DVDs, audiobooks, and “the friendliest librarians on the water planet called Earth.”*

  3. Bullet What else is there: Events! So many events!

  4. Bullet Why do kids get their own library? Well, why not? (Gotcha there.)

  5. Bullet If I am an adult, will I be overwhelmed by all the fun? Yes, probably. In the Children’s Library, it is best to be a kid. However, kids need to have their adults with them at the Children’s Library.

  6. Bullet What if I’m not a kid anymore, but definitely (ick!) NOT an adult? Delighted you asked: the Y.A. Room is yours.

  7. Bullet Favorite kids’ books: Where to begin?! Come on in!

  8. Bullet Favorite food: Pizza. (Duh!) And on special occasions (sssssh! don’t tell the Trustees), the Children’s Librarians have pizza parties for the kids.

Toddler Programs

Our programs for our "Terrific Twos" are the next step for your toddler before preschool story time. Two year olds are treated to slightly longer stories, songs, movement and lots of fun. These programs are usually scheduled for Wednesday mornings.

Preschool Story Time

Designed for children ages 3-5, preschool story time uses picture books, stories, rhymes, flannel boards and songs to enhance children's pre-literacy and listening skills and to have lots of fun. This story time is usually scheduled for Thursday afternoons.

Craft Programs

Our craft programs are designed for both younger, ages 3-5 and older children, kindergarten and up. Miss Erin loves crafts and wants to share them with your child. Check the schedule for craft programs scheduled each month.

Book Clubs

Our Young Critics is a book discussion group for children who love to read in grades 4 and 5. They meet once a month on Tuesday evenings and discuss the book they've read and decide on a book for the following meeting.

Our Book Chat is a multi-session book discussion group that brings together children in grades 1-3 to listen to stories and complete an activity. Check the schedule for the dates of the next programs.

Movies

Join us on Friday afternoons for recently released family films. Check the schedule for film titles, ratings dates and times.

Special Events

Once or twice a month, the Library is proud to sponsor a special performer. Check the schedule for programs, dates and age requirements.
